But What Do I Know?

So that happened last week.

Called one of my financial instrument managers and said "I want to discuss options on how to harden my savings in the coming Trump administration"

They said "Oh, we see no need to panic. We are quite optimistic concerning the markets in the coming year."

"But I've lost money under every single Republican administration" I replied. "Bush senior trashed my savings in the Savings and Loan fallout. George W Bush oversaw that whole banking collapse fiasco. And it has taken me all of the Biden years to rebuild what I lost under Trump 1".

There followed a lively but upbeat (on their part) back and forth to inspire confidence in my holdings - such as they are.

The following weekend I decided that for my health I had to get off the cesspit that Twitter has become, so I did. I'm still there, my posts ain't.

Today, after a week's illness, I pull up the Huffington Post and am confronted by the news that the world markets are sinking in light of Donald Trumps "mad hatter" proposed appointments.

That fool isn't even in power yet and already he is wrecking any chance I have of retiring.

I'm just going to say what I said back in Bush II's reign: If Republicans want to end Social Security they have to crack the secret of running the economy so it becomes possible to grow personal financial stability. Under Dubbya's rule my money would have been safer had I stuffed it under my mattress then set fire to my bed.

I honestly do not know what the hell half the voting public is using for brains.
